28.35kW BIPV Parking Canopy
Part of “Solar Congregations,” this project is unique in a variety of ways. Members of the congregation joined together with Interfaith Power and Light to create Oregon Interfaith Power and Light. Their process involves a unique strategy where church and community members organize to buy and install the solar array, take advantage of tax and other individual incentives, then pass the ownership to the congregation while receiving a solid financial return. Their mission is to deepen the connection between ecology, faith, and good stewardship. Taking these values to heart they installed a state of the art solar array over the churches parking lot. This installation utilizes a building integrated structure with a racking product line developed and manufactured here in Oregon, called Rainframe. Energy Design managed the project from start to finish coordinating the efforts of the various parties to finish within the tight time-line that was needed for the tax credits. Special thanks to Solarc, 2G, and West Side Iron Inc. for their fantastic work on the project.
