Energy Design designed this state-of-the-art solar electric system with battery backup that provides 90% of the building’s power. The 26 kW array utilizes the ultra efficient Sanyo photovoltaic modules and SMA’s Sunny Island inverter/chargers. Installed by Christiansen Electric.
“The Cyrk building at Southeast Clinton and 20th streets in Portland is a model of sustainable features: The roof sport solar panels for electricity and water heating, and the indoor temperature is controlled with an underground water-source heat pump. Altogether, the project is on course to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design platinum certification.”
