Energy Design unveiled the Rainframe BIPV racking system at the Northwest Solar and Green Tech. Expo. The show went from April 29th to May 1st at the Portland Convention Center. The show was much smaller this year, recognizing the shrinking commercial solar installation market in Oregon for 2011. Many of the west’s top installation firms got a chance to give feedback on the new product and were able to get a first hand glimpse of the hardware & design, utilizing the strongest and largest extruded rail to hit the market to date. The structural integrity of the rail allows for spans of up to 20 feet with a cantilever of 5′ at both ends. As a demonstration, one installer and two assistants put up the 1340 Watt booth structure in 2 hours. The Rainframe website will launch soon.
