Li Residence: “Solar Library”

Solar LibraryLocation: Corvallis, OR.

The Solar Library is a unique building addition, designed by Eric Li of TVA Architecture of Portland for his parents. Energy Design worked with the general contractor, Jim Fairchild of Corvallis, to do all electrical work on site and installed a 3,010 watt Enphase/REC Solar photovoltaic system. The library features high end gas filled windows and door, LED lighting, and a ductless heat pump. The goal is to have the power produced on the library roof offset the annual power usage of the property.

Hiram and Judith Li are both researchers at Oregon State University in fish & wildlife and stream ecology.  To learn more about the research & writing to be created in the new library, visit the OSU website here & here.
